Where I've Been...

Arizona...at least for the last sixteen years! I graduated with my associates degree from Mesa Community College in 2003. I moved out on my own and began working as a home and community based service provider for children with disabilities (basically I was/am a nanny for some of the cutest kids on the planet!) Most recently (May 2008) I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my B.S. in Elementary Education. (Go Lumberjacks!)

Where I am now...

Still in Mesa, AZ. I can honestly say that I have found my passion! I love teaching whether it is life skills or academics there is so much we can all learn! I am still working with children with disabilities and cherish the lessons they teach me everyday. I am the self proclaimed FAVORITE Aunt Tiffy to three adorable nephews...just ask them!

Where I am going...

5th Grade at Zaharis Elementary!! I start my new teacher training on July 29 and school starts August 11! We will see where life takes me! It will be a fabulous ride for sure!

Keeping busy with school, work, and being the relief society president, I find time every now and then to have a little fun. This picture was taken at my Ward Christmas Party last weekend. This was a great way to end a rough week that included what I hope to be my last college all-night studying and homework session. My goal is to post many more pictures of me having fun in the up coming weeks. Thank goodness for great friends that help pull me through! Let's play again soon girls!

Foot Update

Here are a few pictures of my foot that were taken about a week after the fall. The update is that I fell on Oct. 20, 2007 and I am still wearing a boot, which makes for some really interesting walking around in the rainy weather! LOL! The bruising is gone but the swelling just keeps hanging around. I don't complain about the boot because it is so much better than crutches. However, I did have one of the kids I watch very kindly remind me, "You are missing out on wearing all those cute shoes with that thing on." All I could do was agree!

Camping/Hiking Gone Wrong!

Last weekend I went camping and decided to have a little fun. A friend and I decided to scare a couple of our other friends with a bear noise. We wandered off the path near a bridge we new they would be crossing. I did not realize the dried up creek bed began so soon (it was dark) and WHOOPS! Yup, I fell! After realizing that my ankle was four times it's normal size and calling my sister in the middle of the night for insurance info, I ended up in the ER, laughing so hard my stomach hurt. My ankle is not broken (but sprained really bad) and I will be on crutches for the next two weeks. Everyone asks "was it worth it?" and I still maintain that in fact it was! You should of seen the girls when we had to make the bear noise to get their attention to come help us! LOL! (Pictures will be posted shortly!)

Gelato on the Patio

I went to dinner with a friend at a little place in downtown Mesa. We were sitting outside enjoying the nice October evening and eating our gelato (mine was dark chocolate of course), when a mouse ran around a pillar into the garden box near our table. My first instinct was to put something between me and that mouse, so I moved behind the table (like that would really help!) Coming to the realization that the table would not do any good, I decided to sit back in my chair and pull my feet up off the ground. (I realize that wouldn't help either, but it made me feel better and not look quite so conspicuous!) As I stood up from behind the table, I saw the head of a very large furry animal peering at me from behind another pillar. I jumped and let out a girlish gasp, only to find it was just a woman and her dog out for an evening walk! Sometimes, you can't take me anywhere!
